Arthur

Arthur was a student worker in the lab at Marion University before joining the lab at Blackstone. When he’s not putting his degree to good use, Arthur likes to read (holla Terry Pratchett!), runs a D&D campaign, and tries to wean his cat Blackbeard off people food and cat treats.

Ben

A man of mystery, Ben is an ace sample jockey over in the lab. What else do we know about Ben? He’s the proud parent of a 1-year old, at least at press time. Clearly he likes balloons. He’s got a fearsome beard. The rest will have to be up to your imagination, because Ben ain’t talkin.

Stephanie

Stephanie did not give us a bio, so let your imagination run wild! Is she a superhero? Sure! Can she run 40,000 oil samples all by herself in one day? Why not? Does she have potatoes for legs? Maybe! Is she secretly a vampire? We’re not telling! Maybe one day we’ll learn the truth about our mysterious lab operator, but until then, you’ll just have to wonder.

Kenny

When he’s not lifting test tubes in the lab, Kenny can be found lifting weights at the gym. He also likes spending time in the great outdoors, fishing on Lake Wawasee, and kayaking on Cedar Creek.

Lydia

Lydia studied English and worked as a videographer for several years before joining Blackstone to work in the lab. When she’s not running oil samples she enjoys traveling, spending time with loved ones, working on the family farm, camping, hiking, cooking lots of new recipes (ever try strawberry lemonade pancakes?), and updating an Excel sheet which contains a list of every movie she’s ever seen. You can ask at any time how many she has seen and she will almost certainly have a precise answer (and lots of opinions of what’s on the list).

Justin

Lab Manager Justin is truly a jack of all trades. When he’s not working in the lab, he’s busy raising his kid with his wife, working on his Dodge D150 truck, and building computers. We’ll add that someone in this lab is known for dumpster diving in his spare time, but we’re not going to tell you exactly who.

Luke

Luke is our senior-analyst-turned quality control manager, motorcycle mechanic, and all around great guy. Despite the picture, he doesn’t always transport children in a wheelbarrow. That alone is all you really need to know about him, but wait, there’s more! In his free time Luke trains Arabian horses, consults with foreign dignitaries on the value of the yen, practices reiki, applies for patents in nuclear energy, and snowboards. Some or all of this may be true about Luke; you can decide how much. Note to potential employees: this is what happens when you can’t come up with anything for your website description.

Ryan

Ryan started at Blackstone in 1997 after graduating from Purdue University with a degree in mechanical engineering. Ryan is the President of Blackstone Laboratories, and he’s responsible for writing and maintaining Blackstone’s software program, overseeing the lab, writing reports, and a million other things that need to be done in a business.

When he’s not kicking ass in the lab or writing code, Ryan enjoys putting his pilot’s license to good use, working on his ’84 Chevy 3/4 ton, and cheering on his alma mater, Purdue University. As an experiment, Ryan ran Aeroshell W65 — an oil with no zinc or phosphorus in it — in his Chevy to determine if the hype over ZDDP (zinc dithiophosphate) is all that or not, figuring if the experiment ruined his engine, well, he’s rebuilt it before. (Spoiler alert: The engine was fine.)
